Found a new project. Ram D250

Did you order a factory Y pipe or are you re-using one? The factory pipe on my dakota I could touch my thumb and index finger together when I wrapped them around the bend areas lol. Slightly restrictive.
I'm using the factory y pipe. It looks like dual 2" pipes into 3". I thought about making my own, but to keep costs down I'm going to use it and scab in my old 2.5" GTX pipes over the axle and out the side.

So the factory y pipe is 2.25" into 3". I can't get my fingers around it but it is close in some spots. Putting the original back in is so much easier. I cut and beat off the old 3" stub. I have a few 3" pieces left from my GTX that I can run it back 3'. I'll eventually go out the back, but straight pipe for now.

I'm working on the vacuum lines right now. There is a switch for the egr valve that is missing. No clue, looked everywhere. The rest of the vacuum lines look easy enough to route.

For your application I doubt you will be looking for more power, but if you ever are, or you have reason to replace that Y pipe, don't do factory. I found a JBA Y pipe for my Dakota that was 2.5" into 3" that was mandrel bent and it made a noticeable increase.

I have the vacuum lines routed according to the service manual. I blocked off the hose going to the egr. I have an egr switch ordered for it so it will probably throw a code until I install it.

Had some issues getting the quick release fuel hoses to seat on the rail. Finally got them after spreading the retention barbs open a bit.

So final things left to do....
1. Tighten Y Pipe bolts. I got tired and cold laying on my back.
2. Fill with coolant
3. Attach fan
4. Drop in battery and see if it goes. :)

Checked fluids this morning, installed the radiator fan, tightened down the exhaust bolts. Hooked a battery up, turned key.....cranking but no love. Go check for spark at coil = good spark. Check fuel at rail = no fuel. Get down to look at tank and....

Got fuel coming out of the wrong place!. And while I'm contemplating life choices of removing the tank, what do I see.....

Somebody has been there before. Hoses were hard as rocks and split. Go to my stash and find FI hose. Replaced both of them with new clamps.

Let's try it again.

Temp gauge doesn't work. Climate controls feel broke and don't really work. Going to pull the dash tomorrow and see what's up. Headlights work. Turn signals work, front/back. Interior dome light no work. Horn no work. Lots of little stuff to play with.

All right, back on the road. Now that's it's mobile you can work on all the little kinks at your leisure.

Does anyone have a FSM for a 94-98 Dodge Ram?

So, the climate controller is a replacement and not an exact replacement. The only difference is the plug on the vacuum selector housing. Original had 3 terminals. This one has 4. I need to find out what wire goes on what terminal.

This is the original plug connector and the correct orientation..

The one I currently have has 4 terminals.
