looks like passenger sidefront rail is quarter inch higher than driver side. will there be enough room to adjust alignement if quarter inch off?

Have you measured at all from this location to see if there the same?

theres nothing on the car just the body and rails

if its off that much,
you might want to get it on a frame rack and pull it straight.
i'm not sure but i think they only give you a 1/8 variance in the specs.
i don't think you would want to pull it back apart.

ya pulling it back apart would be a great pain

would they be able to pull it into proper position without warping the inner fender or such?

you won't really know until you try?
you might have to loosen a side up or something.
but its not set in stone.

ya ill call a frame shop and see what they can do

thanks alot.

I decided to break the rail off .. what a pain. im making sure everything lines up this time

i have the 4 points on bottle jacks leveled. they may be off 1/16th but thats within tolerance.

my question is this aftermarket frame rail. on my measurement diagram it says the measurement on front should be 36 1/4. please see attached picture. my measurement is 36 3/4

this is because the aftermarket frame rail kframe bolts are not where they should be.

take a look at bolt picture for kframe mount its not centered like original, throwing off the 36 1/4

should i worry about this?

the car is nice and level with rail in proper position. i matched the height to the original driver rail. just the width in front im not sure how to handle.

if the bolt holes on the k are off
that is not good.
how are you going to bolt it back on?

when i changed out a rail
i left the k frame bolted in on the opposite side in and
i used it as a guide as to where the new rail should be located.
the one difference is i used a original rail so it all lined right up and it almost fell into place.
i have had bad luck with repo metal lining/fitment up properly
so i avoid it at all costs.
they are last resort parts to me and i know going in
that they aren't going to fit right.
that could also be the reason it is off to begin with.

No what I'm saying is the k frame lines up but the front will be half inch wider like the part where put a square on in the picture. Where the bumper attaches to etc

All other metal I used so far seems to be good like inner fender and brackets etc

i get what you are meaning now
can you pull it together any?
i would see if a bumper would line up before gluing it in.

ya i guess i will test mount the bumper and suchn before i do final welds as i dont want to break it apart again

i wasnt sure how much room there would be to adjust the bumper if i need to. im guessing i could use some shims or something when lining up everything.

what else would be affected by the front being wider?

the fenders and hood line up ok we test fitted that before and will test fit it again

it doesn't take much that if its off a little bit somewhere in one place
it might effect something else a little more.
the joys of repo metal.
one thing i have learned working alot with it
is if it doesn't fit the way you think it should,
its not you,its the part..

Ya thats what im not sure of, where else will it affect besides the bumper brackets

i guess worse comes to worse if need be ill get a frame shop to bend the front of it but i think itll be ok (hopefully haha)
