Front wheel won't stay aligned

To bad about the extra expense, also too bad most alignment techs nowdays only know how to set the toe and let it go. Fast money but no skill required. I was a tech at sears for 17 years before I switched to the diesel field. You can't align a vehicle with worn bushings or other bad front end parts. Just another example of a poorly trained tech making us all look bad.
Rant over...

Well, you sorta can align a car with somewhat worn stuff, but that would require real road testing and an experienced mechanic.
You're just not going find that anymore with modern corporate realities and world of procedural technique and insurance liabilities. Monday on the way to work a truck right behind me either had a tie rod end or center link give way, and the front wheels went kaflooey at 25 mph, making horrible wobbles and screeching to a stop. I saw the passenger side wheel suddenly lose reference to the other.
It looked like there was no caster to tend to keep it in line.
Just sudden crazy non directional flopping.
Must have been awful to have been that driver.
