My dad is his 67 Belvedere and just freshened up the engine. He needs a new fuel pump. Motor is a stock 440 with 10.5:1. Car will see 50/50 street/racing. Has the factory fuel line and runs a 750 Holley. What mechanical fuel pumps are you guys using?

Carter strip pump with a regulator. Plenty of fuel

Clay Smith 6 vane pump. Last pump you'll need until you crack 1000hp. :) A bit of a pain because you have to do some minor clearancing, but works with gas and alcohol and hold up quite well. usually tough to find though.

Just for reference, 80 gph will support 800 hp. Get a quality brand that provides no more than 7.5 psi and 80 gph, most are 80+, and should be good.

After having several Carter pumps putting out way more pressure than they were supposed to, I switched over to Edelbrock 1723's. So far so good.
