hello all
i need to break my cam in on my 540 hemi on my fire stand. I have a 4 speed bellhousing off a 440 with starter. The 440 bellhousing does bolt to the back of the hemi but i need to purchase a hemi 8 bolt flywheel. What flywheel do i need to purchase and can i use the 440 starter. thanks all sjm

Is it the aluminum 70-74 440 bellhousing? If so an 8 bolt 70-71 Hemi flywheel will work with a standard starter. The iron earlier 440 bellhousing is a different setup from 70 and later.

What bellhousing are you using? The 69 and older cars use a cast iron bellhousing with a 143 tooth 11 inch clutch 8 bolt flywheel. 70 and 71 cars use an aluminum bellhousing with a 10.95 inch clutch and a 130 tooth 8 bolt flywheel. My Hemi on the dyno with a 130 tooth 8 bolt flywheel and an aluminum bellhousing.
