Good Mopar Brake Shop Near Chicago?

Yep... I'm risking my life to use a compression union... but I'm desperate. I've been waiting 20 yrs. to drive this car & for one reason or another I've missed the entire summer fixing things like this. I will replace the leaking one with mild steel----one piece--- tonight.

That's a good tip on the metering valve, but I already replaced it again. I could not free the one I had. Now the warning light is off until I hit the brake pedal. I'm hoping that the leak is the last issue..... but I've been hoping for 3 months.

Ok, I give up.... I need an old Mopar specialist that knows more than the Dodge mechanics in my area. I'm starting to think that the master cylinder went out first, which also made my metering valve stick to one side.... and when I replaced that, I caused my SS brake lines to leak. Whatever it is, I'm stumped.

call nick at nuts/volts in lombard
his dad, jerry, is kinda hard of hearing. they're both gearheads. they do ecellent work, and are reasonable in their prices.

just wondering.
saw the *** end of a white 68 or 69 rr in one of their bays as i drove past.
shoulda stopped in and chatted, didnt have and dont have, the time
things should slow down soon

OK, well I did take my car to Nuts & Volts. They wisely removed my compression unions & installed an American made (Power Master ?) combination metering/proportioning valve that is not stock at all (for a hot rod conversion). The brakes work though the pedal is low. They also found out I had my rear-end axle adjuster backing off (lock washer bent). The only negative I have to say is that they quoted me $500 and I paid over $1000.

Rainbow Collision did a great job on my Bee in Volo, Il. I think they do all the work for Volo Auto Museum

Glad everything worked out, but why low pedal? Tears adjusted up?

Meant rear brakes adjusted up..

glad you had it taken care of.
jerry and nick would not take advantage of the situation, or you. they obviously found more and took care of it.
