Got my 71 Charger hidden headlight grille cleaned up.

Looking good. What paint did you use on the housings where the bulbs are?

I used Rustoleum bright chrome paint,figured it would be more reflective than the flat silver the factory used.

I just picked up a 71 Charger SE thatcame with some 72 hidden headlight grille parts in the trunk, so I was able to finish the grille for my 72 Charger. The first picture is the 71 Charger SE I just picked up, the second picture is the 72 grille parts that were in the trunk of the car, and the third picture is the 72 Charger topper that needs the correct grille. The 72 currently has a nice 71 hidden headlight grille that is slated for another car.

So today I redid the argent paint on the grille surrounds and assembled the grille for the 72 Charger topper.

The 72 Charger topper has my nicest 71 Charger grille in it right now

It appears that the 71 Charger hidden headlight grille that was in the 72 Charger topper was the best one that I had, so it will be cleaned up and repainted for the orange 71 Charger R/T from Arizona. The 72 Charger topper now has a nice correct hidden headlight grille installed. The car looks great!

The restored R/T taillights are installed into the bumper and ready to go back on the car!

Tom,it runs and drives,it's a work in progress. Plan is to rebuild the original engine and reinstall it at some point. it's a bare block now. Not going to fuss with the body and paint,I want a driver,I don't have to worry about getting a stone chip or a scuff. To restore the black car,it needs new rear quarter panels,and once you cut them off,there is always more work behind them. They were patched many years ago and have held up okay. I have the orange one that is getting the full treatment.

I need a left side grille for a 72 also if anyone has one they want to sell.

I did find one for that grille but I have another grille that needs the drivers side stationary piece and one of the movable headlight doors. I will have to check which side.
