On the page showing part numbers for windshield wiper motors, the second column from the left is labeled “STAMP #”. Some rows in that column read “PARTS”. Can someone tell me what that indicates?

That casting number came from the parts department? Just spit balling.

Only reason I know that is I have the prestolite books and looked mine up to see which knoch I needed to park it properly.

Wait that looks like the replacement numbers mike.

Weird, Would think it is manufactrers, Maybe what is actually stamped on the motor in the XXXXXXX number? No idea then.

I use his book for the distributors and have definately found anomolies in that section.

I have wondered about that myself. My motor has 2580915 stamped in, which is the part number. Below that is 73691, which I assumed was a vendor number. The date code is below that.

Here is the motor for my 68 RT. The numbers stamped seem to be no different than any other wiper motor. This motor has the “PARTS” designation in the book.
Something a bit strange about this motor is that it is for a 68 B body only. But a 3004114 can be used on a 68 B body or 68 A body. This part number does not show up in the Chrysler muscle car parts interchange manual either.

That 73691 I am positive is the prestolite number. Usually 4 digits and a letter or five digits.

Put a marker of some sort in carb stud holes to mark hood. Make the marker as short as possible. This isn't a 100% accurate because as hood goes down it goes toward back car. Maybe remove carbs and make fixture that will mark the center of the carbs on the hood when it's almost closed.

Uh oh, looks like Galen, or one of his supporters, gave me a red X.
Quoted the wrong price??
