Has anyone gotten a $1,200.00 check yet?

Just ordered a Mag Hytech trans pan, fluid, filters, 1/4 drive inch pound torque wrench, and odds/ends. Doing my best to help the economy.

It's a Stimulus Payment Pandemic !

I checked mine late last night and it was in there. Checked this morning on my phone app and it was down. Called the animated service and it was down due to overwhelming call volume.

So I went to the bank to use the ATM and the two drive up windows had ten cars in each line. The ATM was working so I used it. Went into the grocery store next door and it was quite busy. Shopped for what I needed and the four checkout lines were full. Went to the self checkout and one was open. Traffic was heavier than it's been in quite awhile also. Made it home in one piece!
Went to Kroger and HEB yesterday and both were at least 90% stocked including butt wipes. HEB had a better selection including the stuff I like to use so I got some but neither store had very many people in them at around 9am. Was only going to buy a few things but ended up spending a 100 bucks between the two stores lol

Got ours today and spend a bunch on stuff for the new baby we have on the way. Also going to put vinyl plank flooring in the house.

my brother got his today...he got the whole 1200,amazeballs.
i,on the other hand,got nothing.....?
zip,zero,zilch,no explanation,nada.
this makes me feel really fuzzy and warm,
seeing as im probably the only scrapper in the usa who pays taxes every year.

also,i cant get any small biz checks because,i dont employ anyone anymore.
the scrap prices have dropped so much over the years that it just isnt viable.
prices = cant afford help = cant get small biz check to keep help on and survive.
theres some irony in there somewheres....
C'est la vie indeed......

well,i never asked the govt for anything so i guess i can live without it.
cheers to those who did get one.

Bud, I'm on SS so are you saying I'm on the dole? I paid in for a lot of freakin years.....
Yes you are, you are getting a check from the govt. every month
taxpayers funded & you also donated to it over your working career...
It's still a govt. "taxpayers funded" program...
you still get your check , 1/2 or more of which of the amount you get monthly,
is govt. "taxpayer subsidized"

IMO those & even IF I was on SS, which I'm not
it is a govt. paycheck, like it or not, earned it or not, paid into it or not
anyone over 62 is eligible, even if they didn't pay into it
(among many others, that receive SS checks, that aren't in that criteria)
all it takes is a valid active Social Security # & citizenship (allegedly)
getting offended by saying "on the govt. dole",
sorry, that is reality & just stupid, to get upset about the truth...

No harm no foul...

I believe & it's my opinion, we're still allowed to have a opinions ? aren't we
that anyone that has
a federal or state funded monthly check, albeit retirement or SS
as I described in my org. post...
Already is on the "govt. dole", like it or not

maybe it's the terminology that offends people...
it is what it is...
I don't & haven't ever sugar coated anything...
I've paid the max amount of SS contribution in,
for almost my whole adult life...
I know all too well about paying into it for 'freaken' years'...
I highly doubt I will get my govt. funded (taxpayer funded)
"on the dole" investment back...

I don't care who is offended by that statement...

We've gotten the $2400 as of last night and it was a Godsend.
Further good news is that I'm also receiving the $600/week additional on unemployment.
Since TN unemployment is chicken scratch, that's simply a miracle to get right now.

I've worked since I was a teenager - over 40 years now. The last couple months have been hell,
though. I've driven hours to meet people way too far away to talk about jobs, only to find out
they want something for nothing and at 2+ hours from the house to boot.

I've had the local state employment folks looking for me; I spend hours each day scouring the
various websites too. The combination of there being zero opportunities anywhere near here
added to the fact that what I do for a living is basically shut down for lack of access to places right
now simply means there's nothing out there for me.
It's so bad that the state doesn't even require me to report what companies I've contacted in the last
week seeking employment - they've granted me exemption for that, even though I talk to several
dozen places each week.

I know all this stimulus stuff isn't a gift and that there will be a price to pay for it down the road.
I know I absolutely hate that I qualify for it, too.
I know I've applied for some totally out of my field, crappy jobs in desperation.
I also now know that to take anything less than a $20+/hr job right now would be an actual cut in
income (not that there are ANY anyways)...
Nonetheless, the search continues and the phone, email and website dance is engaged every day.

What keeps hope alive, least for me, is that some folks in the biz are telling me to be patient and that
when they're allowed to resume full function as companies, they'll come looking for me.
I hope that's not just idle complimenting on their part...but I haven't given up.
I NEVER give up - it's why I'm still above dirt, after all.

Years ago I did the math to see how long it would take to get the money that I put in back and iirc, that was 7 years so I've been working on the money that the company put in. Think is, how many live 14 years after they retired vs the ones that die right after starting to draw it? Besides, I look at it a bit differently.....I was forced to participate if I wanted to work for cooperate America and not work for myself even though I did work for myself at times.

Budnicks you don't donate to SS. You can't collect SS if you never worked, need 40 quarters of work to qualify. I'm sure there are few that fit that category.

I know underage children or spouses that get SS/SSDI benefit checks
that never worked a day in their lives...

(It may actually be a death benefit of some sort, I'm not a SSDI guru)

so it's not just a work qualification, to get a check

They get it through their husband's/parents benefits. My X didn't work very much so her SS was pretty low but since we were married, she was able to get more. It wasn't much more but it was better than what she was getting and she's still getting it. It would end if she remarried. My kids do not get anything....and wouldn't have unless I died before they were 18.

Getting squat,, my son got his, so I’m happy with that.

My buddy who scraps out all the furnaces and ac units that I replace called me yesterday. He was going to make a run but luckily called the yard for prices first. $10/ton is all they are paying here. Is it that bad by you to? At these prices I will have to pay him to get rid of my junk.
