Head scratch..

Hi guys. So, in the process of mocking stuff up and moving things around I ended up with a small scuff mark on one of the aluminum heads. It's not real deep or nasty, but you can feel it. It's between two cylinders. The heads have already been done, milled, etc, I had pushrods made, everything was ready for final install...At what point is it bad enough to have to go back to the shop? I'm using 8519 gaskets by the way, nothing fancy. Some copper on the spot be okay with the composite gasket? You can only just barely feel it, it looks a little worse in the picture then it actually is...thanks

Man! I'd toss that head...get another...(kidding).

Half the surface is still good, for sealing. Make sure there's no ridge, to interfere with the gasket. Should be okay.

You might even spray some copper sealer on that side of the gasket but It doesnt look too bad. Just a little assurance.

Use something is 100% flat, such as a machinist's parallel and some 400-600 git paper to just take away any high spots and the gasket will be fine.

Thanks everyone. I just went and set the gasket on the head and luckily the scratched part barely protrudes underneath the gasket, it is mostly inside of the cylinder hole in the gasket.
