My name is Travis and am the proud owner of a 68 GTX. I can't wait to get going on it. It's a 440 automatic. I will be going with the 440 ez-efi and an overdrive of some sort w/4.10-4.30 gears. If the motor isn't healthy enough i'll probably change heads to aluminums(doing research right now) and stroke it to the 512 range.

welcome to FBBO, sounds like a fun GTX project, you'll love the 512ci stroker too

Hi, welcome to the forum! I like your plans, let's see the car. :)

welcome and good luck with the GTX let us know how it runs when you get it together

Picture 007.jpgIt's rough right now but mostly surface rust. The quarters are bad but the rest is ok. It runs and drives good just needs love. I've got a bunch of parts at the house and will probably start a build thread. Lots and lots of sanding ahead. Interior work and more sanding. The motor is sound it just needs jewelry for now. I'm mocking up the efi next week and installing the fuel system. Then brakes are going to disk. Getting it driving and the suspension like I want it first then the engine and tranny gets pulled. I'm going with a 4l80e 2800 stall and the 512 stroker ez-efi 4.11-4.30 gears. Hoping for 650 hp.

It had brand new tires and rims as well.
