Hi,

Picked a 1970 Plymouth AM radio. Looks great but none of the push buttons work.
Any ideas on how to fix

Thanks

Check out a chemical tuner cleaner and lube called De-Oxit its what I use for electronic restoration of pots and tuning Caps and tuners. It cleans and lubes and doesn’t degrade plastics or phenolics. This is the only stuff I use now.

The tune knob changes the dail. Push on any of the buttons and dial doesn't move.

Thanks for the tip on the De-Oxit

Maybe because none of them are preset!!! Turn the dial to a station, pull out a knob and then push it in to set.. repeat for others further along the band.

Mine had a rubber against steel clutch like devise that was stuck together -- I gently worked a pocket knife between them to un stick them . The dial now moves with the buttons but the radio still doesn't work

You know thats a 70-71 Barracuda Radio not a B Body radio right?

Thanks for the comments and Dadsbee did as you said

and it works. Thanks

Next question how to bench test. All the original wires are there.

Orange is the lights
Red is 12V
The two green wires are speaker leads
The case is ground
Good Luck, hopefully it makes music..

Thanks 1 Wild R/T.

What's the next step?
I have a fully charged 12 volt battery and a speaker hooked up to the speaker wires.

Radio case touching negative battery post, red wire to positive battery post, turn the radio on, volume at a reasonable level, search for stations...

If that doesn't work you gotta decide if it's worth sending to a shop...

Wards classic radio repair would be my recommendation..
