What is a good stock replacement valve spring for a 66 street hemi. Single spring with damper, purple cam. Mostly stock.

Hi,
Look at a Comp cams or other cam company web site and find a cam close to yours and see what spring they recommend . should be fine .

which purple cam - hyd I presume
stick or auto and gears and how do you drive it
valve spring materiel has improved in the last 40 years
no mater whose you get I'd advise giving them some hand love
I'd go to a similar load dual spring unless they required cutting something- assuming your heads are on the car
what's everyones opinion on beehives

edelbrock springs are a good economical single spring. don't do the .600" lift thing with them. what cam do you have?

yep what's your lift
Hemi's like light retainers and better locks

some quotes
hough valve spring rates were not as steep as race versions, the Street Hemi’s high spring force still garnered notoriety for wearing camshafts out much more rapidly than other Chrysler engines, and regular rocker arm checks and adjustments were strongly encouraged

unfortunately no load info

the 426 HEMI Gen II engine is P3690933 (used in production on the 426 HEMI engine and 440-6BBL). It is good for cams with up to .500″ valve lift.
