High Gas prices = no more classic cars?

Every second, a plane like the Boeing 747 consumes around 1 gallon of fuel. It might consume 36,000 gallons of fuel during the course of a 10-hour flight. 5,000 gallons of fuel to take off and climb to cruising altitude and use more air to take off than 100 people will use in a life time. It's likely that there are anywhere between 7,782 and 8,755 commercial planes in the air on average at any given time in a day............... Now, when they fix this with a climate change bill and cut back on them using fuel, install one big *** battery for my safety and for the safety of others, give me a call, till then, eat **** and die. I would start with trying to take my gun first, that might make it easier for them to take my car. I'm not buying, what they're selling!!!
Those 747 figures are probably accurate for the 747-400 model, they equate to about 74 miles per gallon per seat if carrying 487 passengers. Which is why nobody is buying 747s anymore. The 787-10 GEnx can get 104 seat MPG. If your car or truck got 25 mpg. but had four people in it then it would also be getting 100 seat mpg.

Based on the date it was signed, I looked it up & found what is the "Act On Climate" bill.

We all know that there's all sorts of hidden crap in these bills, but I still see nothing that targets antique vehicles.....

The commiitte they appointed of non elected people, stated that no fossil fuel vehicles will be able to be registered or operated in the state of Rhode Island if the goal of achieving pre 1990 emission standards is to be achieved. it's in there,as well as no more fossil fuels being allowed to be used to heat homes and businesses. Listen to Tara's podcast on it.

Although there's plenty of mention of new electric vehicles by 2030, I don't see any reference that currently existing vehicles will be pulled off the road.

Here's the bill: http://webserver.rilin.state.ri.us/BillText/BillText22/SenateText22/S2448.pdf

This R.I. senator specifically mentions that it applies to new vehicles only:

Sen. Alana DiMario (D-District 36), a sponsor of both bills, clarified during the May 4 Senate Environment and Agriculture Committee hearing that the bills don’t mandate EVs or ban any type of vehicles. However, the bill states, “It shall be a goal of the state that one hundred percent (100%) of new passenger cars and trucks model year 2030 or later offered for sale or lease, or sold or leased for registration in the state shall be zero emissions by 2030.”

Listen to the podcast,a Senator explained what is really in the bill.

The law gave the unelected committee complete control to create implement and enforce laws to achieve the pre 1990 emission standards, which includes no more fossil fuel vehicles allowed after 2040.

Funny there‘s zero documentation to be found regarding this - save the mysterious podcast - which is not documentation any podcaster can say anything - it doesn’t make it so. I would need to see proof not pundit.

The law was passed, this committee has carblanuch to to create, and enforce whatever laws are necessary to meet pre 1990 emissions standards in the State of Rhode Island period! Said committee has stated that in order to meet those standards that as of 2040,no more fossil fuel powered vehicles can be registered or operated in the state, included in the plan is to force homeowners and business owners to convert their properties to solar or electric heat. This is fact. The Governor signed the law,and had a big press event touting to be the first state in the nation to pass into law this new green deal climate change bill. They also just banned 30 round magazines and are forcing people to hand over their property. They try to pass these unconstitutional laws in Rhode Island first to see if they can get away with it, and if they do,other states will follow. The current commerce secretary and former governor of Rhode Island is the one who appointed this committee to enforce the new green deal climate change standards in Rhode Island on her way out the door to Washington. You can believe what I am telling you, or watch it unfold in front of your eyes, and then watch other states follow suit!

I've read that before and I have no problem with those figures. My point is, if eliminating fuel and or oil consumption is the goal, lets start with plane owners. While a commercial airplane may be fine, people like Al Gore flying around in a private jet telling me to cut back is never going to set right with me. Hollywood is full of private jets and they need to adhere to the same rules as the rest of us, no more fuel burning vehicles for them either.

To be honest, I don't believe anyone is going to be coming for our classic cars. In Missouri we require safety and emissions testing on cars according to location. All cars are required to have safety testing, but emission test is broke up into locations, closer to larger cities required it and if you live in the outlining areas you're exempt. I use to register everything at my lake houses to avoid some of this and cheaper taxes. All cars 25 years or older can be registered as classics and avoid all further testing on them forever. That's what will happen to cars when this EV mandate comes into play. They will fall off the end as they are wrecked or die of old age, till what is left of them can be easily handled. The worlds not going to end and we are not a country run by dictators and never will. Taking our cars would be like coming for all our guns, good luck with that. There are millions of us with guns and cars and they know that blood would flow in the streets like sweet wine, again, good luck with that. I think we need to eat this apple one bite at a time.

People forget Obamas cash for clunkers program where the internal combustion engines in the turned in vehicles had to be destroyed so they could not ever be run again. This is their plan to deal with ICE powered vehicles. You will be able to own them, but you will not be able to register, operate or buy fuel for them, rendering them lawn art.

Our classics in Missouri with historical plates can be driven, I think it's 1000 miles a year and to and from car shows, with no hassles. I drive mine around 2 to 4 thousand a year. I don't believe we are going to see classic car Nazis out in the streets beating old guys over the head for using their cars or running us down checking for hidden gas. Because of the Millennial Generations lack of interest, I'm not seeing a crisis here. If you think so, if I were you, I'd start selling off some of those cars you have laying around. 2040 is a long ways off, we have other fish to fry between now and then.

This is starting to sound a lot like the 4-door Cuda story.

Laugh now RC,none of us will be laughing when they put their net zero plan into full effect. Rhode Island is the test bed,the rest of the blue states will follow suit, then the Feds will cut off funds to the red states until they comply. We have been canceled and are not a part of the lefts future utopia!

Ammo will be next sneaky grab... Of course you canucks and NZ already gave your rights away....
