No one has mentioned what your idle RPM is set at. If your cam demands a higher idle RPM, wouldn't that put you out of the idle circuit? .........................MO
You asked a good question, the cam may want a 1000-1100 rpm idle, my 383 likes a 1100rpm idle I have a 110 lsa. I always set all 4 idle mixture screws while using a vacuum gauge, usually it takes going around the carb 3 or so times adjusting the mixture screws to get the highest vacuum. It maybe he has to low of a idle rpm like 650-700rpm.
