How do you i d the year of a 727 trans

Look thru the hole and see if u just see metal or plastic. Plastic is the 3 pin. Metal is the single pin. Ofcource it depends on the year of your vehical. 68 and back is single pin. 69 up is 3 pin. U may have to mix and match cause the valve body may be a different year also. Kim

So I took a look and this is what I see ... I am guessing by the color this is plastic so I need the three pin switch?

If you have the pan off, there will be a casting date on the valve body, on the area over the accumulator piston. It will tell you approximate year.

Thanks for this. Trans is sealed up and in the car. Hoping to figure this out without dismantling.
