I started removing my dash so that I can send it off to be repaired. got it just about out but the wiring going to all the lights and gauges seems to be a problem what do I do to get it all the way out? Is there a main plug or do I have to try to tag each wire which is going to be hard to do. I am working on my 73 charger.

Disconnect the battery or you'll be in for a surprise and a bad fuseable link. There's the amp meter wires, speedometer cable, harness plug. Lots of things to carefully disconnect and label.

Label all the connectors. There aren't as many as may seem. Many of the switch connectors will only fit the specific switch.

I'm not able to remember if in a 73, you have to drop the steering column down a bit to pull the dash. In my 69 you do, but I never pulled the dash in my 73 when I had it. Just after you label everything if the dash won't clear, just loosen column bolts a bit and it should slide right by the column.

I'm sure someone who knows for sure will chime in on this part too.

re-reading the OP ... there should be a bulkhead connector at the firewall - disconnect it and the dash will come free. There may be the odd connector here or there that has to be disconnected - like the door switches for example.
