How to install a shift light?

Just wondering, is it possible to hook up a light to go on at a certain RPM? Most of the RPM lights I've seen are big and bulky. I can understand how those are set up, pretty much same as a tachometer. I just want a LED to come on in the dashboard at a certain RPM.

Any ideas?

I used an RPM activated switch from Summit. Connects to the tach output on the MSD box and switches on the shift light at the selected RPM.
