I dipped my 69 ashtray in rust remover and it removed the rust very well. Not ready to install it yet but it’s just been sitting in my garage and it has flash rusted again. I can always re-dip it before installation but what’s gonna keep it from doing the same thing while in the car? Once I get it cleaned up should I spray it with a clear poly?

Gibbs lubricant oil is a rust preventative. It works really good. Im a distributor
