These are the only numbers we can find on it. The dash and door. No fender tag. Where else on the car might I find something to help with more detailed information on the car. No VIN sight on the net recognizes those numbers. Thanks

mymopar.com VIN decoder does a pretty good job.

In general:

WH- Charger or Coronet, High price class

23- 2 door hardtop

(it's NOT an SE)

G- 318 engine

4- 1974

A- Hamtramck assembly.

The rest is the sequence number.

Without the fender tag or buildsheet, just looking at what's there and whether it looks to have been altered is the best you're going to do.

Where have you looked for build sheets?

Hmm apparently not that good, 7th digit A is Lynch Road in 1974.
As far as build sheets the most common place is behind, underneath or in the back of the seats. They have also been found under the carpets and above the headliner.
Fender tag is always on the driver inner fender about midway. You can see in this pic (I have 2 tags) just behind the battery bracket.

I almost put Lynch Road but was too lazy to check.

I'm just now seeing your comment. I really haven't had much time to dig around in the car. I left for work shortly after we brought it home. I've got another week before I go home. Where would the build sheet be? Thanks

The carpet is mostly gone. The back seat is where I thought it might be. Not there at the moment to check. Thanks. Nice fricking car by the way.
