what would you pick from the 1967-1972 model years with the 340 small block.

Are some years/models particularly difficult to find body/trim and interior parts?

Edited range to include 1967:D

Darts: 1967! Lol. No markers same body. Not as sought after as 68/69. 70/71 grill vs 72. . Well that personal choice. So many have been converted already. 72 grill is not as desired but it’s also harder to find Pre 70 comes in a post too.

1969 Valiant. Post and light.

'69 Barracuda Fastback.
The Dart looks too much like a baby B-body while the Barracuda has it's own unique style.

I liked the ‘68 Dart and ‘71 Demon. They cost too much now.

'68 Barracuda fastback. Of course Hemi BO29 would be the pinnacle of the A-body world. But a Barracuda formula S 340/383? Not too shabby.

A 67-69 Barracuda S. Almost bought a 69 Dart a couple years ago. But it was a Dodge so I backed out. Just like Plymouth cars more.
This, even though it's not an S or a 340, just a great looking car

I gotta vote 67-69 fastback barracuda as well with the 68’ being the pick of the litter.
I’m a little biased though I own one already:lol:

I buy a 70 - 71 duster/demon here 340 4 speed

I think I read that the 68? 340 Dart was the best handling 48-52 percent weight distribution.
Test drove a 68 Barracuda 340 fast back when new. It became a handful to drive when you were going very fast. Thought it was going to hop like a rabbit. But it was quicker than a 67 390 XR7.

Didn’t answer the question. If I was going to always drive sedately, I would get a 68 GTS small block or 69 fastback small block Cuda either 4 speed.
Caveat 1971 340 Swinger, Canada only, about 100 ordered shared by two dealers one in Regina Saskatchewan and one in Edmonton Alberta. Possibly could have been Calgary Alberta. They have a registry, or group. I have seen two.

They're all nice. I like rallye gauges so that takes a few of the Darts out. I think a 68 340-S, 4 speed FB is first choice followed by a 71 Demon 340, then a 70 Duster, then 70 Dart.
None of them are a bad choice. I built this one for my wife 32 years ago when we got married.

I favor the 68 GTS 383 as I own one, here fresh from the body shop in 2014.
However, when running and cruising, I really get a kick out of the 71 Demon, slant six auto.
Back in 1971 while in the military my roommate had the exact same car, only it was a 318 three on the floor. WE were good friends. he is gone now, so when I see that Demon I see him!
There is a 71 340 drive train sitting on the shelf, so who knows one day I may switch it!

I like Demons/Dusters best along with a 67-69 Barracuda fastback and even coupes.

70 Swinger is my favorite. Well, just because. What's not to like?
