I bought a roll of the vinyl floor mat from 69bfan. It's for my 65 Belvedere wagon. I made a panel to cover the spare tire well out of plywood, all painted up in the color as close as I could get to the interior. What is the best adhesive to use? The panel will be on hinges so it's not mounted yet so I can cover it.

3M spray trim adhesive works well. There are proper ways to apply it to make it more effective.

There are at least two kinds.

I've used the "77" to adhere indoor/outdoor carpet to plywood speaker boxes.

It lasted longer than I owned the speakers.

IIRC- apply to both surfaces and allow to tack before joining.
