Is Chrysler still going after clubs for using their trademarked Mopar name?

  • Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, Mopar, SRT and HEMI are registered trademarks of FCA US LLC.

Chrysler had to get it's trademark house in order so it hired a law firm to do so. The law firm was heavy handed with the car clubs so one club fought back using the power of the pen.

It was discovered that the words they were claiming to be trademarks were not trademarked. In addition Chrysler was cancelling parts that were selling well. Chrysler suffered a public relations meltdown from the debacle and had to roll over and give up the trademark battle with the clubs. Telling the most loyal mopar customers in writing that they were an insignificant business opportunity was a dumb move. There were a few casualties like moperformance magazine.

I will not be surprised if they try to sue again over their trademarked names now that everyone is letting their guard down and starting to use them again.
