saw that yesterday said it was caused from the camshaft breaking in half ......If you hear the in-car audio they ask jack how he is and all he said was not good not good

Yeah that was a really bad explosion, hung a intake valve probably
{or broke a camshaft or crank possibly} comes with the territory with Ch3N02

Great part is;
he walked away with nothing more really than ringing ears...

car not so well, chassis is fine but $100k in body & engine went Ka-boom
Don Schumacher can afford it anyway...

glad Jack didn't get hurt too...

Chassis was bent also ...was sent back to INDY last night already

Scary part is the blower bag didn't contain the explosion of the blower
sending shrapnel alum & magnesium everywhere {let alone carbon fiber body parts}
it could have been "really bad" closer to the grand stands, earlier in the run...

thank goodness for SFI safety equipment
