ive been a sand, gravel and rock quarry for 2.5 years now. Been a hell of a test of staying power......in truth, im a pretty tuf customer .....in the really bad waves, when all one can do is punch through, grin & bear it, learn to love the rope, i'd look baphomet between the eyes and say in mantra," is that all You got pervert?! Watch out bitch cuz im comin down there to dog your fuckin *** thru eternity, ya' buttbreathed piece of crap!!" im on the back side finally, had bloodwork done to make sure prostate and bladder were not cancerous(no) and thats it, out lasted this **** on my own, by the Grace of MY GOD....no fear babee! And, i Worked and built thru All of it. 2 Women who have endured stones had to say that the stones were far worse than childbirth. Just keep punchin a hole thru the sky......to the very end..........

Dude. As son as I stopped drinking sodas( my vice was Diet Coke) I stopped making kidney stones

The thought of Jaged Shard of Calcium, Coming out of My Meat....just Too much to Handle.

Yup, the diet drinks are not the best for you. I drink very few sodas these days but like tea sweetened with Sweet and Low but I'm backing off of that more and more. A buddy of mine uses 3-4 packs for a large tea and well, I'm surprised he's not having them. So far so good for me.

I've had them and them bastards hurt worse than anything I've ever felt. Hope I don't ever have them again! I quit drinking sodas cold turkey. It just took one time
for me to learn to drink more water than anything.

Been there done that. I was a diet soda and beer junky and both will give you stones. And yeah they will make a man out of ya.

Knowing the type of kidney stone helps determine the cause and may give clues on how to reduce your risk of getting more kidney stones. Types of kidney stones include:

Calcium stones. Most kidney stones are calcium stones, usually in the form of calcium oxalate. Oxalate is a naturally occurring substance found in food. Some fruits and vegetables, as well as nuts and chocolate, have high oxalate levels. Your liver also produces oxalate. Dietary factors, high doses of vitamin D, intestinal bypass surgery and several metabolic disorders can increase the concentration of calcium or oxalate in urine. Calcium stones may also occur in the form of calcium phosphate.
Struvite stones. Struvite stones form in response to an infection, such as a urinary tract infection. These stones can grow quickly and become quite large, sometimes with few symptoms or little warning.
Uric acid stones. Uric acid stones can form in people who don't drink enough fluids or who lose too much fluid, those who eat a high-protein diet, and those who have gout. Certain genetic factors also may increase your risk of uric acid stones.
Cystine stones. These stones form in people with a hereditary disorder that causes the kidneys to excrete too much of certain amino acids (cystinuria).
Other stones. Other, rarer types of kidney stones also can occur.

Factors that increase your risk of developing kidney stones include:

Family or personal history. If someone in your family has kidney stones, you're more likely to develop stones, too. And if you've already had one or more kidney stones, you're at increased risk of developing another.
Dehydration. Not drinking enough water each day can increase your risk of kidney stones. People who live in warm climates and those who sweat a lot may be at higher risk than others.
Certain diets. Eating a diet that's high in protein, sodium and sugar may increase your risk of some types of kidney stones. This is especially true with a high-sodium diet. Too much sodium in your diet increases the amount of calcium your kidneys must filter and significantly increases your risk of kidney stones.
Being obese. High body mass index (BMI), large waist size and weight gain have been linked to an increased risk of kidney stones.
Digestive diseases and surgery. Gastric bypass surgery, inflammatory bowel disease or chronic diarrhea can cause changes in the digestive process that affect your absorption of calcium and water, increasing the levels of stone-forming substances in your urine.
Other medical conditions. Diseases and conditions that may increase your risk of kidney stones include renal tubular acidosis, cystinuria, hyperparathyroidism, certain medications and some urinary tract infections.

Don't think I've ever had a really bad one, but my brother has had a couple, one got infected pretty bad. I quit the regular pop years ago, never liked diet. I also really try to avoid food with high-fructose corn syrup and my digestive system has been much happier about it. Drink a lot more water now but also drinking more coffee lately. And still a couple beers every now and then. Good luck.

Yep! I was on a coke a cola kick and developed one of those gut wrenching, vomit hurling, back stabbing, testicle screaming, kick in the dick, sobs! Regular soda too. The stone I passed was the same color as coke. That was ten years ago. I'll never drink coke again.

no kidney stones I think , but a gall stone as big as my thumb (4.7cmx 1.7 cm )

found out the hard way 12 months ago when they thought I had food poisoning

hate hospitals and have been putting off doing anything about it . will have to man up one day , just when that day comes is still debatable

There is one thing worse than stones and that's Shingles! Ask me how I know.

My sister-in-law had cancer, double mastectomy, chemo, the works and she said that when she had Shingles they were worse than all of that!

I have permanent nerve damage in my hand and arm from Shingles. They were like second and third degree burns for six weeks. Wouldn't wish them on my worst enemy...

A guy at work had them years ago....I walked into the rest room when he was passing them..the guy passed out cold and when he came to he was in tears...never forget it

My step son had them when he was in his early 20's. We were standing by the time clock talking with friends after we all punched out from working that morning. He started turning pale. He said "I'm not feeling too good.............." then dropped to his knees in pain while holding his lower back. I drove him to the hospital where they told us he had kidney stones. He drank a LOT of soda's................ Just saying.

(he got a bunch of "Party Hats" to pee through trying to catch the stone(s).........)

The doctor told us it was the same kind and level of pain experienced by women during child birth. OUCH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So far I have been lucky......................Knock on wood.

Glad to hear you are good to go Jimmy.

Good info Cranky..................

I peed in a jug for 24 hours and they analyzed it and said they could not conclude anything by it...some people just make them the Dr says. I call a huge BULLSHIT on the childbirth comparison because NO woman would EVER have a second child if it hurt that bad!!!! Also, it is not the pissing the stone out that hurts, in fact, I hardly noticed that part. It is getting the stone from the kidney to the bladder that hurts, The Dr said the tube from your kidney to the bladder is the least flexible in the entire human body. The pain comes from the pressure of the fluid backed up when the stone blocks that passage.

Yep worse pain I've ever had. My was 2mm and I still have it in a little jar. Once it went through my kidney I was fine. I was driving when it hit and had to pull over and have a friend come and take me to the hospital. That was about 9 years ago. I try to drink about a gal. of water a day. Hope I never go through that again.

Hi all, holy crap, i dint think this much mileage would come off this posting. All You Guys Thanks for ringin the bell. Yep it's a test, what Darius said about the journey, the stoppage, like when one puts a thumb over the garden hose, pressure builds and spraying begins, and pushing against the burn, tryin to force the sonofabitch around another 180, and then the recoil, after pressures off, the bastard rolls back into a pocket until the next piss& that crap repeated unti You finally move into your tube, then its a cake walk, until ths next prick breaks loose Begins its journey.....the razor blades in the head i could take with a grimsace, the rectal pain is white noise, just have to face it head on. Hell i got a jar that rattles like a maraca.....my worst one was almost 5 mm, shaped like a starfish, all barbs......urinary tract runs right through thru prostate, something like that, so its all zympathetic, one affects the other. Oh mildred!. Cranberry supplement is what helped me break it down.
Please come check my Chopped Bug project......
"HYDE"...i dont know link, title My Late Brother Will's Chopped Oval Bug: by Bladecutter.......drink water!! Peace Y'all, jimi

CLEAR water is only allie, any brown liquid no bueno, lots of other reason to not drink diet soda, aspartamine poisoning mimicks MS. My stones ars calcium, strange cuz i dont do dairy except for heavy cream in coffee. Best way to keep from ever finding out for real is to drink LOTS of water, at least 2 litres a day.
