I am putting an aftermarket harmonic balancer on my forged crank 340. The Summit balancer instructions say to torque crank bolt to 95 pounds. FSM says torque to 135. Normally, I'd follow the part's specified torque spec but this is a significant difference. I called Summit and they said their balancer is a lot "tighter" than stock and doesn't need to be torqued down so much. What say you? 95, 135 or somewhere in between?

Hmmm never thought about this, I bought an arp balancer bolt and it says torque to 165...

FSM spec, balancer has nothing to do with how tight the bolt should be, chevy spec? JMO.

I don't know for sure, but I'd have to go with the FSM. You sure don't want that thing flying off. As long as it seats OK, the factory bolt (& crank) can handle that torque no problem.
