Looking for matching numbers

My 69 Charger had vin numbers on the front core support area and the trunk lip area. Can't seem to find these on my 66 Coronet. Are they somewhere else or didn't they do this in 1966 ?

In 1966 the SO# is on the core support and the rear cross member to one side of the left bumper bracket. The SO# doesn't match the Vin#. The engine will not be stamped with a VIN#.

...and, if I am not mistaken, the SO# will be on the fender tag, but the VIN won't be there.

A 65 Coronet would have the SO # stamped in the package tray under the rear window, but I don't know anything about a 66.

Post number 2 is correct. You need paperwork to Match the VIN to the SO number, nothing on the car itself will do it.
