I suggest you do an in-depth search of available tire sizes before you purchase the rims.

Already did, and there are plenty of selections available.
Just made a deal on 17x7’s with 235/55-17 tires. Picking them up on Saturday. I will post some pics when I get them home.

where did you find your charger , when do you get it .do you have much to do to it .it looks pretty good. post some more pictures when you can.
I found the car in Ohio. I will be picking it up in the next couple of weeks. Here are a couple more pictures. It is a 361 factory air car. The 4 barrel conversion is kind of wonky, but I have a new carb, manifold, and air cleaner to put on it.
Here are the new rims and tires. They are 17X7 rims with 4 inch backspacing, and the tires are 27 inches tall. From reading all of your posts, you seem to be able to fit 27-28 inch tall tires on the front without issues, so I hope everything will clear.
I wouldn't be too quick to toss that Carter. I think it's the perfect carb for that engine.
Yes an aluminum dual plane would be an improvement. I like that carb though.
I see the master cylinder looks new, but I would still convert it to a 67 setup.
Don't plan on any quick stops, I used to have the same setup.
I would change the power steering pressure hose as well.
Looks nice and original, hard to find.
I already had a brand new 625 Street Demon carb, and I have since picked up a Performer 383 manifold. I will hold on to the Carter for now just in case. The wonky part is that it was installed on a 76 thermoquad manifold with an upside down adapter to fit the Carter. The extra inch of the adapter also messed up the hood clearance, so it was running a chopped up drop base air cleaner under the stock lid. The performer should be similar in height to the stock manifold, so the A/C brackets and a stock type air cleaner should fit.
The master will be changed as I plan to convert to front discs at some point soon. I also plan to change all the belts and hoses, because the car was apparently restored about 20 years ago, and then sat for a long time. Currently debating whether to install the new tires and then try and drive it 5 1/2 hours home, or try and find a trailer.

i got power steering hose from canadian tire took about a week,same thing with rad hoses.

That intake is about 3/8" taller than stock. There is an A/C bracket that is secured by the second intake bolt from the front on the driver's side that might no fit that intake. The factory intake has a little divot in the runner casting to clear that bracket.

Tires may well be the death of me. 67 Charger, done in 2017. I bought into the “buy 17s because they won’t be making 15s!” Hype and I think it was a bad idea. 17” and up on our cars is an issue with the rear tires, at the front of the rear wheel well. I have stock axle, location, no tubs or anything. I’ll post a front pic, I ran out of money (surprise!) so the only tire I had for fronts was 225/50/17 off my Maxima (times were tough!). I have since replaced those. Rears I ran a 305/45/17 (Mickey Thompson- 28.1” tall). That left me about 1/4” clearance which is asking for trouble. Rims were/are 17x8 magnum 500 front and 17x9 magnum 500 rear, BS 5 1/8th ish.
HEIGHT IS YOUR BIGGEST ISSUE for the rear tires. So figure out what height you can GET keeping in mind that there are variances that don’t neatly fit to “28.1” exactly. I ended up shimming 1/4” aluminum plates at the front shacks so I wouldn’t peel my wheel trim off. I also have a set of Continentals at 285 but the height is 25.5 or so.
So why are you doing with it? Street? Strip? Highway? I went max width, tall as possible, and most tires for 17” and up seem for Japanese cars- either no sidewall or truck tires. Not much AVAILABLE in between. See table attached.
2nd last is 245/55/17 BF Goodrich, just disappears, and last one is my dad’s 275/60/15 (I think), 28” tall. It’s tight!

Yes, I did a lot of research before buying the 17 inch rims. These tires are 27 inches tall, and should fit according to the various tire sizes everyone else has posted. I do have a set of 1/4 inch spacers at home if necessary, as I used to have the same issue in the rear with my Barracuda and 28 inch tires. My plan was to get as close to 27 inches tall as I could, to cut the rpm a little for highway cruising. I needed new tires anyway, because they were 20 years old, and I was not going to stick with the stock 14 inch rims. These 17X7 magnums were a deal I couldn't pass up, and I really like the look of them, and with the 235/55-17 tires, they still have a reasonable amount of sidewall.

They came with snap in centers that look exactly like the regular magnum 500 ones, they even have the same decal design. The outer lip of the wheel is actually contoured to look like a factory trim ring.
