Is the correct torque for max wedge intake manifold bolts 25 ft lbs? This is with iron heads.

Thanks

I used to do 20 to 22
Too expensive an intake to risk cracking!!
It always sealed if surfaces were flat and clean

Yeah 40 seems high for the aluminum intake, and this is an original one. Thanks

I would do no more than 25 lbs on mine. Pretty standard for an aluminum intake. I might try twenty......
(How good are the threads in the max heads? Got a couple helicoils in mine.....)

The old specs were 25 or 30 depending on where you looked...I would do no more than 25 if everything fits perfect, less if it does not, or fix the bad fit.

Agree, 25. You are sealing something, not a structural component. Edel recommends 25 for it's intakes.

Do not try 40 with a 426 hemi unless you like to EZ out every hole in Head.

I do 40 on a cast intake but not aluminum.

Just my opinion

Those are specs for CAST IRON intakes. I would never, NEVER tighten a $1000 60 year old manifold anywhere near 40lbs. 25 maybe, more likely 20.

Once the engine has run & cooled down, I would torque again, cold. Keep repeating until you cannot tighten further.

Is there a service manual entry for the Maxwedge. The hemi aluminum was 72in/lbsf but they are 1/4" bolts/studs
