Update so I have a few things to do before a road test and I just knocked out 3 of the 4 things I had a trans dip stick leak, original trans mount had a crack , drivers side header pipe way to close to the pitman arm and 8” of f ..in snow on the ground. Trans leak fixed and when I did the new mount it also fixed the header issue sweet I now have over a 1/4 in between the pitman arm and the header . The original trans mount was about 3/8 shorter than the new one so now I need spring to melt the damn snow. (Original) down below.

Man those are awesome! I’m switching to headers, I might need to just get a set instead of going to the muffler shop

First test drive completed ready to put the hood on and drive to the gas station yes I can run pump gas , put a few break in miles on and it’s off to the track for some acceleration tests ..

So I got the car ready to go to the track for some test and tune waiting on weather, Michigan it changes by the minute. The big news today is I got my cheater slicks mounted these are not a typical cheater slick they are specifically made for for the southeast Gasser association, vintage SuperStock class they are a 7”x29” tall drag master made by Hoosier and is the only tire the class will allow. Very cool stuff they even have the old style sidewall for the vintage vibe and they are lite and sticky ,don’t be fooled by the looks these are the same compound as their other slicks . I think they will fit nicely in the stock 66 wheel house

Looking forward to hearing how they work for you, might have to go that route with my 66 coronet. I have 10" slicks right now, but they might end up being a little too tight.

I finally made it to the track for some testing last night and man it ran pretty good. The 1967 RT carter AFB was giving me some fits. It was having a bog off the line which killed my 60 foot time. I think this is definitely a 12 second car. My Best ET what is a 13.15 my best mile an hour was 104 which I know those are not stellar times in this day and age of stroker’s and aluminum head engines but I will say for a 66, 383 with 67, RT heads and carb plus new old stock internal parts and 1975 Edelbrock DP4b intake, manifold, running on 7 inch cheater slicks I would say that’s pretty damn good I am very pleased. I was shifting at 5800 RPMs and I think it will go to six grand no problem no Miss no stumble just a high end charge WOW!!

looks like it hooked up really well, great job!

Yes no issue with hooking , I think it’s in the carburetor the tune seemed on but the cars next to me were very loud and I could only feel what was happening.

Question: My 66 coronet build is similar to yours, what is the stall on your converter, and gear ratio in the diff?
