Modern Bullitt build

Pat, this is an epic build, far beyond the capabilities of most, especially in a home garage. You cause a sensation every time you post. Thoroughly deserving of the kudos you get. It is wonderful that a big corporation wants to recognise your work. I am sure there will be many more accolades for you down the track. Keep up the good work.

I received a note from a member on the Pro Touring forum. He said he has been following my charger build thread and that it was his favorite thing on the Internet, well almost! He says it hurts his feelings every time he opens an update on the Charger and sees the tires I’m using on the car.

It turns out he works for Michelin North America. He said they would like to give me a set of their tires because I’m building exactly the level of vehicle and build that they want to be associated with.

Needless to say I said YES! So cool that a large corporation like Michelin would think that my home built project car is worthy of their attention.

The rear wheel (335/35-17 Michelin Pilot Sports) showed up today and I should see the front wheels (275/40-17) soon.

This is very cool, I am very honored, and I will pay it forward!!

Thank you Michelin!!

Pat

Now that's a well deserved compliment!! Very cool indeed, who knows maybe they'll want to showcase your car as well.. never know?

Pat, if any car is deserving of sponsorship it is yours!

See if they will agree to take it to SEMA 2020!!!

I’m not sure that I deserve it but I certainly appreciate it! Now SEMA would be fun;-)
Thank you!

I agree! Your car is very deserving. I look forward to your updates and have shared with several car buddies. I am in awe of the fine craftsmanship you and others on this site are capable of.

Thank you Scott! And you’re right there are a lot of great builds on this site!!

I’m very honored, and I believe they’ll be more to come in this relationship.
Thank you

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again......this car is disgustingly sick! I tip my hat to you sir!

Any updates, Pat?

Sorry no updates:-( but soon! I’m in the middle of two big projects one in South Florida, 600’ of seawall around a marina. And the other at home with a kitchen remodel/addition.

Where in South Florida. I work for Miller Pipeline and we recently did a lot of natural gas pipe replacement in Pompano Beach....

Spent a lot of time in Pompano Beach in the 80s and 90s when we used to sell Bertram’s, but the marina we are working on is up in Stuart Florida just north of Palm Beach.

I finally got around to that time consuming and tedious job of painting the grill. As suggested by others I use SEM trim black #39143 and titanium metallic #15253. The Testors 1/16 fine line tape works perfect!

Thanks

Pat

A most awesome build, Sir.
So close. So very close now!

With a little massaging the new replacement grill trim fits very nice. Was able to clean, Paint and reuse all of the original trim clips. Note there are two different size heads as well as two different length trim fasteners.

Thanks

Pat

I've often wondered how the manufacturer's stenciling processes were when they originally painted grilles and all other parts. It would be curious to find that out.

I have wondered that as well! I would love to see a picture of how they did it! Starting off with a black plastic grill saves a step, and I’m sure they had some sort of template that quickly laid on top to spray the silver.

Lots of small details but still making progress on the reassembly of the Charger. Mounted all of the LED lights in the grill frame along with the hood latch hardware.

Thanks

Pat
