Mopar Engines in Non Mopar Automobiles

I think the early Jensens had 383, but then switched to 440 power. That Doug Thorley Javelin 1 is pure AMC power though, since AMC paid for it. The 390 was poked out to 439". It went 8.00 @ 205 before it got totaled.

About the same as when Ford was selling Dodge trucks re-badged as Sterling a few years ago. :)

There was a Shell gas station here in Columbus, Ohio back in the 60's and the owner had a Shell yellow 289 Cobra and a 57 Corvette . The Vett had a 426 Max Wedge with cross ram and an aluminum hood scoop also. I sure would like to find those 2 cars in a garage somewhere today.

Not a Mopar, but there is a 56 Chevy running around here that goes to some of the shows, fittingly called The Heretic, with all Ford running gear, first time I saw it, the guy was in a huge argument with a Chevy guy.

no pics, but there is a 56 Thunderbird that shows up sometimes with a 426 Hemi in it. Must be a handful.

I had a 1961 Ford 100 short bed that I set a 440 with a TF trans with a little over 500 HP in back in the 80's and made it one of the fastest Ford's I have ever driven. Even at the street races it got to the point nobody would race me. They would look in the back of the truck and see the 200 lbs of lead at the tail gate and ask why it was there. It was to help with traction cause I couldn't even get the tread cut 14" caldwell's drag slicks to grab without it. Man that truck was alot of fun.
