Mufflers of choice for a high horsepower car?

I think I will use the Dynomax product on my mild built 383. Just not sure which ones to use. Anyone know about the differences ??

Ultra flows are stainless is the difference I think.Been a long time since I had the Ultra flows on the car.

My exhaust exits in front of the rear wheels. It goes; headers to 24" collectors to Flowmaster 30's (old school) to exhaust tips. I believe the new Flowmaster muffler which is comparable are the Super 40's, 2 chamber mufflers.
It is practical to run an h pipe across the collectors? There isn't a whole lot of exhaust to use....

Sweet sound! What size collectors and pipe?

If I had a RR I would do it just like yours, VERY badass.

I was looking at your youtube vids, nice.

In fact, Jim Laroy built my engine, ported Victor heads, etc., etc, etc.

I'm a tick under 800 on nuts and 1000 spraying. I uncork the cutouts before hitting the track.

Really nice car!

Have you ever ran through the system, then run open?? What was the diff?
I have never run without the exhaust.

We ran it NA through the exhaust, then dropped the X-pipe and went a half second faster! To be fair, it's a 3" TTI exhaust and they aren't the straight through mufflers.

Thank you MT & Mopar Thunder.

The collectors are 24" Flowmaster merged slip on connectors and the pipes are 3.5". The headers are the old skool slip on headers. I was wondering if an "H" pipe exhaust might increase the tq down low and change the exhaust note? And is it even possible with my exhaust setup? Maybe I'll stop by a local performance exhaust shop and pick their brains too.

Jim LaRoy delivers superb quality. His work is "tippy" top shelf. And he's a sharp man too! Post up some vids in a new thread or link to youtube etc. I really enjoy watching and learning from others.

Wow, what a difference! Looks like no x-pipe when at the track!

Here's my Jones Max Flows.

I have the flowmasters myself. They call the system American Thunder. I love the sound. It's a throaty nasty sounding beast.

If you want QUIET but nice sound try this.....

Here is what I use....
1 7/8 Hooker super comp headers with 3" pipe all the way back plus Magna-Flows.
The Trick to make it quiet are the "CC" inserts now sold by summit.
I insert them between my header collector and Header Pipe.cc3.jpgcc2.jpgcc4.jpgcc1.jpgcomplete exh.jpg

SWEEett !! wondering if you notice any change in performance...thinking of running the same set-up as yourself Mike !!.... "How much did those set Ya Back ??"
