my car got primered last night, followed by a gray basecoat; this is to duplicate the factory primer. My car will get a lot of overspray on the undercarriage, just like in the factory.

More pics tomorrow.

thanks,
Marcel

guys,
the bodyshop put some sealer in today; we tried to duplicate the factory-style as good as possible. More pics on the blog ofcourse.
tomorrow...paint on the enginebay/trunk/passengercabin/undercarriage.
And yes..we are gonna duplicate the factory-overspray!

x2 looks good. That sealer should keep everything all dry inside.

Painter Hans is working on some pitting in the firewall.
Can't wait to get home tonight..finally some bodycolor on the car!

the car will be painted with a basecoat only; basecoat with some additives to make it look like original paint ( as good as we can duplicate it ) with a little shine in it, but not too shiny in today's standards.
the paintshop is also specialized in rare paintjobs, they do a lot of work for Disneyland for example; Painter Hans will also duplicate runners in the paint with an airbrushgun ( for example, runners in enginebay, runners on cowl, trunklid etc. )
The car will NOT get clearcoated.

The painter told me he NEVER had anyone who asked him to paint a car a little unshiny, with runners and factory flaws :toothy5:

you must think i'm nuts.

no paint on the outside yet, this will be the 2nd stage of painting the car

Absolutely awesome! Great work this one is going to come out really nice. My 64 is a single stage enamel, has shine to it but still looks correct and not more glossy than available back then.

looks good, can't wait too see the final paint on it.

Car is ready to go back to my garage; gonna mount the axle with wheels and the complete front end. After that...the exterior paintjob

With help from a buddy; we put the partscar in my garage, as my Savoy is still at the bodyshop.
Next week, my 2-week holiday starts, so i can start dismantling the Fury for parts.
I am also gonna send parts to Sweden and Finland to help some guys who are restoring 1963 Plymouth's.
The (rust-free) front fenders of this car will go on an original T-85 63 Savoy MW!!!
