Found on my new to me, 71 Satty clone.

Both originate from a harness near master cylinder. Connector in top 3 photos has Black, Brown w/yellow, and Black with White

Bottom pic, connector is single wire, brown.

Fantastic! Thank you Matin. That explains why I can start the damn thing in any shifter position.
I hope I don't find out why they have them disconnected. LOL

Any idea what the one at the starter relay is for?

Wire at relay is the ground for the relay itself.

Thanks Oldbee, just looked at my relay and they've ran a new ground to the fender well. LOL

This is the kind of stuff that makes an old beater fun for me. Giving the old girl the love she needs, and getting things correct again. Like swapping out the 6" diameter hose clamps they used for the radiator hose leaving a 4" tang to slice you at any given reach. LOL

most people disconnect simply because its a pain in the ***

easier to just be able to push in the clutch and start the car ( one less thing to do )
both mine were disconnected when I got them and have seen the "why is this disconnected "question asked heaps over the years

Oh, you were talking about the Neutral Safety Switch, ( thought you were talking about the ground wire - which is why i was really wondering why that was a PIA. LOL) Anyway, i don't disagree with you... It is nice at times to be able to start the car without the clutch, but of course there is an element of risk. Having an AUTO though kind of rules that out.

I should of said that the 2 outside wires on the 3 prong are for your backup lights In case they don't work .

Good to know. Thanks. Haven't even checked them, but i'd guess they don't work. Haven't made it to the back of the car yet. Still working on front lighting..... new headlight, dimmer switch, T/S bulbs, etc...... High beams work great, but the lows are super dim. Need to dive into that next..

You should be able to get Brighter headlights for it on Ebay or amazon they Weren't that bright when they were new .

Right, but these are like 6v dim. Like they have a bad ground, or not getting full voltage.
