Hi everyone,

I’ll be in Las Vegas until Sunday night, 1/25. I was wondering if anyone in the greater area would happen to have the upper cowl for a 64 Dodge Polara. I mainly need the drivers side from the louvers to the door. If you happen to have one for my East Coast rust bucket let me know. I’m the pic it looks decent, but it’s not.

Thank you!

Kramers used to sell a repair panel for that area. Contact them.

This panel and many others for our early B-bodies were made by Sherman's in Detroit. I don't know whether they are still in business, but they may still have a website. The quality of the pieces was hit or miss, but in many cases, there was nothing else available. Their floor pans were especially atrocious, compared to AMG, but they were doing them before anyone else was. I used their lower rear quarter patch panels to build rear quarters for my 1964 Polara (same pieces could be used for '65 Coronet). I also used their upper and lower driver side cowl patch panels. I think I bought them cheaper through Summit, rather than Sherman directly. Summit also has free shipping for orders over $200.

I will add that the wiper opening was of poor appearance and not centered on the pivot shaft so I cut the old area out tacked on the new piece in the correct position and cut thru both at once for a good fit, welded it back together. I welded in several patches to the passenger side cowl also.

Yeah, the wiper opening does not have the right appearance. My body guy had to cut this area out of the original, and graft it into the new panel.
