I am looking at buying a 69 Roadrunner. Its a 1 owner car. The lady that bought it new, left it to her son. The car is complete and appears to be very solid other than the lower rear quarters and the piece that the drivers side rear leaf spring hanger attaches to. The piece that holds the rear spring hanger....is that hard to replace or can you even find it as an aftermarket piece ? Last question...the steering wheel has the gaps where its aged, like cracks. Is it able to be repaired ?

Its B5 blue , 383 automatic on the column. The car is in good shape overall. It may offend a bunch of folks, but if I get it, I want to make it an A12 clone. Nothing 100% correct. I'd add a 440 six pack, steel wheels and lift off hood. Close enough for me. I just want it to drive the wheels off of it and enjoy it. Not a trailer queen.

Thanks so much

Get under it an look real close at all the frame rails. The piece where the rear leaf attaches to is made by AMD and I think it costs 600. It needs to be put in right. The wheel is no big deal, I know people make repair kits, nice wheels are still around for sale, people restore them, and I think they are reproduced now.
Sounds like a pretty decent project other than the frame rail rust. Any pictures?

I did the 6 pack and a12 hood thing on my 68 GTX. Looks nasty. Obviously already was a 440. Now it's a 494 w/550 hp. I don't give a **** who that might offend - and neither should you. It will be you car. Do what you want with it.

The car was stored inside a building on a hill and the part that the rear spring hanger attaches to is rusted . The frame rails are good. Not a rust bucket at all. Lower rear quarters need replacing, which is typical.

Yeah, biggest thing is check under the car, floor pans, rails, trunk pan, and up at the rear window from inside the trunk. Those are the biggest rust areas. If you have any concerns post some pics and the guys on here will help you out.

that piece is NOT $600. !!! However, it isn't an easy thing to replace either ... you can't access the spot welds to drill them out so you pretty much have to burn the piece off and grind the rest.

If it's the rear shackle mount, that'd be a easy fix. Go for the A12 look! I did also on a 69 GTX.

who cares about the fine stuff to repair.how many times can you buy a one owner car?The chance at that are very slim....I would buy it as quick as possible.Plus you know the car has not been hacked buy someone else.Good luck and remember "Mopar or no car"

Absolutely correct. I had the price of the full frame rail in mind for some reason, and it appears that it's price has dropped significantly over the past couple years

you'll like the A12 hood...but you may want to consider a hinged one, I did and I really like it.
and btw.....
:xscuseless:

JC just GET IT! Waiting for pics with everyone else!

I have made an offer and I'm waiting to hear back. If it goes through, I'll fix the spring hanger section,I'll tune it up, install a new fuel tank and fuel lines, black steel wheels and red lines, new quarters and interior parts from Dantes ( they seem like a good place to deal with ). After that, I'll build a 440 six pack and install it and an A12 hood. I'll get some pics.

Man I hope you get it...But I would leave it stock..But thats me and its your car,so have fun and "get you some of that"........

Hers a couple of pics.
