Need Help Decoding Transmission - 68 Charger

Hey Guys, just going thru some old photos of my transmission when it was rebuilt a few ago.

Looking to get info as to what all these numbers mean. I already have the other info off the pan.

In your second pic, i see the casting number for the case, and the strip of little squares is the date code. In your third and fourth pix, there is the casting number and the date code for the oil pump housing. I cant quite make out the PK number in the last pic

Trans was built on Wednesday, January 17th, 1968

I believe your PK part number is 2892031; A727B 1968 Dart, Belvedere, Coronet, Barracuda, Fury, Charger, Monaco, Polara, and Newport w/ 383-4bbl.

I believe each box is a month - Jan to Dec; L to R, and each dot is a week. Hard to tell from your pics, but I think I see 3 dots in box 11 = cast the 3rd week of November 1967? Since you've got the stamped part number/date code, the casting info seem somewhat irrelevant unless you feel someone's been up to some monkey-business?
I could only also guess at the pump housing - maybe cast in Feb of '65 (2-A) and machined/stamped in Dec '66? (L-6)

Based on your knowledge would a pump housing be cast in 65 but not installed until 3 years later?

Also, what does the 261-2 mean?

Notice that its the same as the tailend of the casting number for the case, just easily identifiable to the factory workers from a mile away lol. The reason for the -2 is that is the second generation for that particular casting mold, or at least not the very first mold made for that casting. HTH, Lefty71
