Hello ....need some help. Will a 1974 360 engine adapt to a 1966 727A transmission? Working on a 1966 Dodge Coronet Deluxe that has 318 Poly, taking the Poly out. Are there any problems in doing this and if so please advise.
Thanks ....Bill

Yes, just make sure to get the correct torque converter for the externally balanced 360

You can also use a zero-balanced converter...

From the B&M catalogue:

SFI Flexplate - Chrysler

Application:
Chrysler '71-'92 externally balanced 360 with A-727 (These special Chrysler Flexplates must be used when changing converters on an externally balanced engine.)
Item# 10236
$89.00

.

The '66 transmission ,if original should have the coarse spline input shaft .Any stock 360 converter will have fine splines, and later ones may be a lockup converter.I would use the B&M flexplate mentioned above with the '66 converter.
