Just got the call on Friday from the paint shop that the original rims don't have the clearance. Does anyone have the right size, maybe 15's and some tires? Needing advice, and maybe some photos of look? Maybe a link or two of where I could buy the best original rims available? Looking for original style and must be immaculate. Price isn't the main concern. This project is almost done and im looking forward to driving it soon. Let me know and thanks in advance. LOL. yup sometimes those curve balls catch you right on the chin...
If the paint shop isn't going to charge you rent then get the wheels & tires you like on order. If the shop is pressed for space and want your stuff gone then I would suggest a quick trip the junkyard (or private seller near by) and find you some 15" disk brake rims with 5 x 4 1/2 bc so you can get it rolling again, some yards still have rubber mounted. If it was mine and just painted, knowing how paint shops are I'd be very interested on getting it out of there and back in my garage...IMO
BTW, Magnums and Keystones always seem to look right on Mopars… that's a hard choice to make brother.

Depends on what brakes and the size of the rotors? What did you put on?

Without knowing what brand(s) or any other brake kit information, that's an impossible question
to answer for any one of us.
The manufacturer of said brake kits will always specify in their literature (online, too) what the minimum
wheel size requirements are for their kits. What did yours say?

It would help if you were more specific as to the problem. Are the brakes too big, and the caliper hits the wheel? Were you trying to use your old fourteen inch wheels? Are the hubs of the wilwoods too big for the center hole of the wheels you have? If we know the exact nature of the problem we can be more helpful.

The car is at the paint shop. The wheels are 14's and hit the caliper. Needing 15's for clearance. Looking for a full set of tires and wheels.

16" ??? It's getting harder to buy tires for 16" you might want to think about long term tire availability before you commit... I'd either stick with 15" or jump to 17"...

Was wanting to stay as close to original as much as possible. I just wish I had time to dedicate to make all the necessary inquiries and have the comfort in knowing I did this too. I run a tree business and we never stopped working and to make matters even worse, I hired a salesman a few weeks ago. I'm not making it home every night until after dark. On Saturdays as well.

Thanks - I wasn't aware of 16" tire sizing. I was able to stay with the same speedo gear with the set when going with the 15" and lower profile tires. It knocked off the speedo just a couple MPH, not enough to bother changing it. If going to 16" was going hunt for tires with a lower profile and hadn't looked into this yet. I only drive mine a few hundred miles a year so would be several years before needing a change.

As long as the tire O/D is close the speedo stays close, you can select 17" tires with a similar outer diameter (O/D) and keep the same speedo gear....

But honestly changing the speedo gear is so easy I wouldn't let it limit my tire choices

Most B bodies look good with 27"-29" of tire in the rear and 26"-27.5" up front and at least 8" of width..

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Exactly. This isn't a wanted thread. @poopdeckpappy, when you figure out what you need for wheels you can start a wanted thread in the Classified forum.

I actually prefer new rims and tires. The guy said he might have some. Not gonna start a thread though. I've barely had time to come back here! Hell look at my profile. I'm a busy mess. Been here almost 6 years, and only posted and commented very little. Thanks for the suggestion though. Narrowed it down to the Keystone's, which my wife loves, and the Magnum 500's with BF Goodrich White letters out. Which would any of you choose?

They're my choice although there is an aluminum wheel that closely resembles the Magnum looks similar to what Derwud posted, might be the same, that I like as much.

Yeah I've changed the gear more than once over the years most recently when I went from 3:23 to 3:55 gear.
