1. Remove old weatherstrippng.

2. Remove window and internal parts, overhaul, replace.

3. Adjust door alignment.

4. Adjust window alignment.

5. Repaint top of door (black is chipped).

6. Install weatherstripping on the door and roof rail.

What order should these be done?

Any tips for removing replacing parts?

Weather seal under door panel? OEM or Dynamat type sound deadening?

Any wisdom from the board members is more than welcome.

I'm doing this right now. Install all parts after paint is complete, window belt moldings very last. I used some 6mil plastic sheeting and butyl rope for the water barrier behind front and rear door panels.

Thanks.

DO I lube the front window channel? It is a NOS mylar piece and is fuzzy inside where the glass rides.

I had issues with those front window channels being tight and lubed them (year one replacements) also make sure to clean the channels. I found that getting a good all around fit for the window and door is a matter of just playing with it over and over again. take the striker plates off first and make sure the door closes and lines up perfectly without the striker helping lift the door then move on to getting the vent window frame and window mated to the weatherstrip followed by setting the in and out of the window so that the window seals yet is easy to roll up and down. It's a long drug out process of tweaking to get it just right so take your time and don't settle for a so so result.

Sage advice about being patient; everything about these cars requires mega doses.
