Need to know what a part is called?

Car is a 73 charger

Alright, I have a bracket that connects to the steering wheel, on this bracket there is (was) 2 white plastic pieces, that slide on either side of the column. The plastic pieces bolt the bracket to the dash frame.

Can't show you a pic, as both broke taking off the bracket, but thet are square shaped with a rectangle whole in the middle.

I think it maybe a plastic shim so when you bolt it down your not steal on steal ,i maybe wrong ,
