just rebuilt a 440. got it running, have water running out of # 4 spark plug. you tell me , bad head gasket, need to goop a water jacket bolt. im stumped . new to the mopar engine rebuild game.

It's one of three things:
1. Cracked head
2. Bad gasket leak
3. Cracked block
Any water in the oil?

Sounds like you might have water coming out of the exhaust manifold stud at the spark plug. Exhaust manifold studs need sealant. They screw into the water jacket.

ok guys thanks for the info so far. I'll start with the manifold bolt first, then I guess I'll have to pull the head. The engine was running before with no leaks before I took it a part, so I guess the manifold bolt leaking makes sense. Its an easy fix and would make a bad day very good. thanks for all your input I really appreciate it. thanks again Rob

There’s a freeze plug in the head in that area as well best I remember

Just like khryslerkid said... very possible a exhaust manifold stud is not tight and needs sealant

Had that very thing happen to me on my first car when I was a kid.

once again guys , thanks for all your help. I'll be sure to take a look at the freeze plug.

Sorry I'm a literal reader

Don, I think I'm more literal than you. I read this as the cylinder is full of water and the spark plug has a hole in it.
