I have seen advertised on a Poly group on Facebook that the old Weiand 7503 is being reproduced. Word on the street that it is being cast by a company in Australia although there are some made in China copies out there on E bay. What bothers me the most is that it is advertised as a "dual plane high rise". Well, in a way I guess it is. But it looks to me like a single plane open plenum with a divider cast into it exactly like the old Weiand was. I was hoping it was more like the Wind Tunnel sold by Poly Super Pac years ago which appears to be a true dual plane air gap design.

The first photo is a Weiand 7503 I own. The second is the new manifold available and the last is the Poly Super Pac manifold.

The Weiand style manifold is recommended for slightly modified engines and rpm range of 3500 and above. Not where most of us Poly owners spend our time. Damnit! :BangHead: :BangHead:

Hey! Dump those 2.91 gears and slip in some 4.30s. That will wake things up!
I'm trying a Holley 2210 this year. Probably 50 more horses!:)

The previous owner put a Holley on mine. Damned if I can remember the number though. It works good.

The 2210 is the square bodied 2 BBL used on the 360 and 400 cars. I haven't found a adapter to mount a regular Holley 2 BBL.
I fabbed the 2210 adapter from aluminum billet.

A single plane has a common plenum. The Weiand is not a dual plane, however, each side of the carb feeds 4 cylinders like a dual plane.

I found my carb kit receipt. It was a 2280. It was a late 70's and early 80's slant 6 2 barrel. It works well and runs good but not big enough.   I might look around for a cast 4 barrel intake. I have a 650 AVS II that should work well on it.

Agree 100%. The meaning of "plane" "is smooth, even, level" Although this intake design doesn't share a common plenum because of the divider, It really isn't a true dual plane like the other manifolds where one side feeds 2 center cylinders on one side and the two outer cylinders on the other. Those intakes have 2 separate levels of plenums and work well for low rpm performance. Semantics I guess.

I ran a Offy 360 on a 413 in the early 70s with a 780 Holley. They couldn't have spent a lot of dyno research time/money on that design. :)

Maybe start a for sale/trade, the Weiand for a stock dual plane?

Could do that. I have a Weiand and a China made copy. I might see if they sell at Mopar's in the Park in Minnesota the end of May.

Contact Bruce Toth at Toth Machine and Performance. He will have what you need.

He does a fantastic job porting and installing larger valves in a Ploy head. It is a work of art.

He will also machine your rocker arms to work with a larger cam.

Bruce is in Eau Clair, Pennsylvania I'm not sure if I can post his phone number here but he is on Facebook and is easy to find.

Bruce is a Poly expert for sure. So is Gary Pavlovich. I read of them on one of the POLY groups on Facebook.

Here's a fun video about the Poly as well.
