I haven't been out to Barona 1/8 mile since last spring when I broke a 440Source roller rocker. Used that as an excuse to take off the stock iron 452s and replace with Edelbrcok 84cc E Streets and old school Isky ductile iron rockers.
So the very first pass it did a 7.67 @ 89.845 mph with a 1.66 60 foot - besting my previous best of 7.82 @ 87 mph. Then when I let my foot off the gas the engine died. I lost all electrical power. Coasted off the track and halfway down the return road, then had to get towed by a golf cart back to the pits, then had to call AAA for a 50 mile tow home. Couldn't find anything obvious to fix so had no choice.
Looking at it in the garage I noticed that the stud coming out of the alternator for the battery connection is loose in the housing so I'm wondering if that is the culprit.
