I guess gone are the days when the owners manual states actual miles between suggested oil changes! I bought a 2019 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk to tow behind my RV. I went to the owners manual to see what they suggested on Miles between oil changes and IT IS NOT LISTED!!!!! Not anywhere in the 1" thick owners manual! It says to look at the onboard heads up display for notification of oil change due. When you look at that, it simply has a % as an indicator of "oil life left". It then goes on to say basically how you use the vehicle has a lot to do with when to change oil but still no actual numbers listed. I can just see going to a dealer with a blown engine and them DENYING warranty because you didn't change the oil often enough!

I guess what they're saying is, 'don't worry, just trust our technology'...lol. Seriously though are you sure you just didn't miss it somewhere?

Our JGC doesn’t list mileage either. On the EVIC, it will display when to change it.....which is about 8k.

It comes with an Oil Change Indicator, you will hear a chime then Oil Change Required will appear in instrument cluster. Will do that till you change oil and reset it.

As I've said before, they're just taking the human element out of driving. Which make people more complacent then ever and become a more dangerous driver!

I hear you Darius. But even though I drive a 2010 Ford F 150 4X4, I have that onboard reminder of remaining oil percentage and when to change it. It seems to be between 3k and 5 k. Also most of the newer vehicles use the synthetic oil as opposed to the older types so they get a longer life usage because of their synthetic properties. Just the way of things now to take the DIY out of our motoring enjoyment and giving the builders and dealers all the more profit and make it more complicated to work on them ourselves. Hell I don't have a fill port for the transmission nor a dip stick to check it. Idiot light and a warning is all along with a temp gauge for the tranny. I have a small leak at the pan and there is no way I can fix it myself without having a mechanic do it. I can purchase the gasket but there is no way I can do it myself without specialized tools. Glad I have a great mechanic that doesn't charge and arm and a leg for the job...cr8crshr/Tuck:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::usflag::usflag::usflag:

My cars get short tripped a lot and my X was even worse than me and the oil gets dirty looking pretty fast. At least when I was working, my junk got driven 15 miles at a time..... one way.....

If you plan on keeping it for a while I'd change it
              at 5 - 6000 miles.
Sooner if mostly city driving, that includes
              hwy. stop & go.

Wish there was a cheap way to send me your SRT used oil.....it would be better than what's in my 95 Dakota! :D

I run synthetic 7,500 in newer vehicles.
But if it makes you feel better you can change it more frequently. I'm guessing your indicator in the car is as good as anything. They have engineers and scientists who develop these computer controls, they are smart people for sure.

The newer cars run much cleaner than the car of even 20 years ago so the oil stays cleaner too however, you are on the highway a lot (and not stuck in stop and go crap), the oil will last even longer. The oil doesn't really go bad, it just gets dirty! I also hope everyone is recycling it. Been doing that for many years.

Are we talking “good for the environment” or “good for killing weeds” or “filter it and run it in my 12valve” kind of recycling? Lol!!

Fiat-Chrysler-Peugeot wants to sell cars, and have us help them meet emission standards. Thus we get permanent trans fluid and 5-20 weight oil recommendations. Not me. 10-30 Amsoil in the modern Mopars 5-20 is just too thin. Annual oil changes due to low miles. 1000 on the 09, 4000 on the 06, and 7-10k on the 69 a year. Don’t trust em. Unless it’s warranty, nothing I own will ever see a Dealer.

Wife has a 09 Ram bought new. Hemi 5.7. 210000 miles. Change the oil when the chime rings (around 6000 miles) no problems.

From the 2019 Jeep GC Owners Manual as I read it, looks to me you're due for a change...….
                              1) when the confuser tells you on the display, or
                              2) if you play in the dirt and muck (severe duty) 4K miles, or
                              3) 350 hours, or
                              4) but not to exceed 10K miles of normal duty, or
                              5) 12 months
