Hello! I’m replacing the upper door panels in my ‘74 Charger. But the replacement panels don’t have pull straps like the originals. Any ideas on how to incorporate pull straps?
I was hoping to do that, but I can’t find the straps themselves. I only have one of the originals.Hate to see you cut new door panels but could you use the old ones as templates and for the new ones and transfer over with that old setup?
I’d post a “wanted to buy” in the parts interior sectionI was hoping to do that, but I can’t find the straps themselves. I only have one of the originals.
I’ll try that! Thank you for the tip!I’d post a “wanted to buy” in the parts interior section
Hey Shaggyracer I might be able to help you out. Can you post a picture of what you have. If the same as the 73 there are two chrome metal clips that cover the screws that hold the strap in place. For a number of reasons these bits always seem to go missing. I always keep my eyes open for them at Mopar Flea Markets and when ever I see a third gen Charger rotting away in someone's yard.

I did change to a black interior, and I bought replacement upper door panels from classic industries. The new panels don’t allow for pull straps but I’m hoping to modify them. Are you willing to part with the straps you have?@Shaggyracer
It looks like you changed to a black interior.
If you show the new panels, we can be of more help.
I don't have any black pulls but I have a couple dark green ones (74 jade).
Dying them may or may not hold.
I've had good luck dying hard plastic with an extremely thorough cleaning and SEM adhesion promoter, but those were not often grabbed parts (cassette pod).
I just thought- low line Chargers (WL VIN) may not have had pulls.
These are the panels I bought. Please show the new panels?
What brand are they?
PUI stuff is famous for leaving OEM features off of their products.
I have several door pulls, and may even have a tan one.
