Well you showed me yours so here's mine: notice my 500 gallon "extra" tank.

Funny how an electric air compressor has to have a California compliance sticker on it.

I do like the compressor!!

I learned alot about these Quincey 325's this week....... they been making them for ever, and not much changes......... I was always told these were bullet proof. I found out they are built to pretty much to run non stop for ever, lol

anyway, I noticed my 325 getting noisy, but oil pressure was always good and it always pumped good air; but just last week it started knocking, like a rod or a wrist pin. So I open up the side cover, which has never been opened....... and it is freaking spotless! I give it an oil change every now and then but not often enough. anyway, it's tight as balls......awesome

so I start opening up the top end, everything clean except the top of the high pressure discharge valve assembly...... lol, I became an expert this week.

there are no moving parts! I didn't expect that

the valves are just sorta like flat washers sitting on a spring. they move according to suction and pressure who knew?

I never really gave it any thought, never had to....... the thing just runs

anyway the valve assembly gets held down tight into the head with a jamb bolt and a lock nut, there is a copper washer at the bottom where it seats into the head.

evidently, the high pressure discharge valve assembly at the top is a point of condensation and gets rusty.... probably from not running enough, long enough, to get hot enough; imo

turns out my hold down lost enough material to loosen up the valve assembly...... that was my knock

hardest part was extracting the all the hold downs...... 2 of them broke off, even with heat. I made my own

Mine does live in my mechanical room with the boiler which I also use for domestic hot water so the room is always warm and dry. I hope yours will continue to serve you for the rest of your life!

I even made my own quincy unloader tool..........

anyway, she's all tightened up and quiet as a church mouse! just a suckin and a blowin :hitit:

it hasn't moved from that spot since 1997, I need to bring her out in the light and give her a power wash...... maybe next week

It's a win Baby!

Thanks Mike.....I'm sure it will, these are pretty bad ***

Quincy, sold dozens of them. They are still running. The QTV5-60's and 80's are solid pieces of machinery.

That's awesome @eldubb440
What I get from your posts is that you don't work hard enough for your Quincy.

I'm not sure it's possible......

my A.D.D. wanted to push this whole debacle into a total restoration, but I have enough on my plate.......original paint will have to do
