No oil pressure on gauge…pls help…FIXED, thanks all.

I’ve been using a K&N, but I’m not certain it’s the right one. It has worked but I feel like it doesn’t engage enough threads so I can’t recommend it.

Other suggestions? If nothing is better or worse, why wouldn’t I just stick with Fram?
Wix is still way better than Fram. I must be lucky as I have never had an issue with Wix and I have yet to get a 51515 that was not made in the US. There, I just jinxed myself, I'm sure.
Baldwin is also supposed to be a good filter, I have been using them for many years for my old Ford tractors.

For all of the bad talk about FRAM filters, I have not had a bad one yet. I took the advice years ago and use WIX or a NAPA equivalent but I’ve run across cars and trucks with FRAM filters in them and they have operated fine.
I have seen videos on teardowns of filters to see how cheaply made many filters are but in many instances, I’m not experienced enough to determine bad from good. For that, I trust those that have not steered me wrong.
Oh, and often times to prime a new oil pump, I pack it full of assembly grease so it first sucks in a semi-solid. El Dubb 440 mentioned Vaseline either in truth or jest. I don’t have that stuff in my shop. It ain’t THAT kind of place, man.

Engine masters has a great episode, I think it's called
'great oil filter showdown'/comparisons...

I wouldn't use a Fram Filter on my lawnmower
maybe on a stock 302 Ford or a stock 350 chevy, I didn't care about

watch the Engine Masters Episode,
see for yourself why many engine builders all shy away from Fram

I prefer K&N it's called Gold, but it's a white & w/orange & black writting filter,
1 if not the best filtration for it's size, less restriction & best oil pressure
& has a metal bypass if it gets clogged, never ever had one so bad it clogged
but a safety factor so it doesn't kill the bearings,
all around good/quality filtration...

It is a K&N Gold HP3001, they are not cheap $15,
but I care about product quality/performance more than price
it's your engines "blood' circulation,
why the hell would you skimp there"

I actually have duals (not necessary, for stock engine) on a remote dual filters deal,
for extra filtration & more capacity for cooling... Still the same filter just 2 of them

Other suggestions?
Some filters discussed here. Baldwin seems to be desirable............

FWIW, another thing I've experienced on new oil filters that have sat in a box on a shelf for who knows how long, the rubber diaphragm may stick to the metal face it's been seated on since production.

For any oil filter that you use you should look at the parts called microns of filtration that it will catch through its filtration medium the medium is what makes the difference in any filter the amount of pleats is important as the more pleats means the more paper means you catch more material I have always used a wicks or an Amsoil or even a Moroso oil filter the Chrome one if you look at what it says it will catch and debris and that is what you're after the other parts of a filter are the bypass you don't want the bypass to open at the wrong time because it does what it says it bypasses and just puts junk through your engine cut a filter open and you'll see the difference in these bypass valves and you'll know one of the better filters so a quality filter Baldwin is if you look Baldwin makes part of Wicks and Wicks and Baldwin are two of the best filters out there but Wix is discontinuing some of their filters because companies are getting sold I don't know if that's the case here but I've watched this industry over 50 years and seeing how things have changed on parts the other filters that are rated well is what you're looking for get a filter cutter and cut one open yourself and then you'll understand even more

The God Awful truth... it doesn't matter what filter you use, as once it starts catching crap your engine is probably done anyhow.

I fly behind a simple screen, day after day and trust my life with same.

I keep a jar on my bench, not a joke :carrot:
Vaseline is awesome for softening up door rubbers when they are newly installed....just be sure to wipe off the excess after a few days.

Keep the doors closed when freshly installed.
