Non computer controlled RWD with best gas mileage ? Car and truck

I bought a 93 Dakota sport new. 3.9 magnum, 5 speed.
I put about 145K on it, never any big repairs, and imo, just the right amount of electronic engine management to make it almost zero maintenance.
I sold it to a friends kid like 8 years ago, and I’m pretty sure it’s still going.

It was a 2wd short bed and my typical everyday driving fuel mileage was about 19-20.
It would do a bit better on a highway trip.

All in all, it was a very good vehicle.
My 93 was originally a 3.9 it would get around 23 mpg on the highway.
I put a totally rebuilt 5.2 in it at 157,000.
I think it's around 210,000 now.

I have a V6 in my Chev pickup. It goes down the road at about idle speed for my SV100 Suzuki motorcycle.
The fuel mileage is good enough I never measured it. $50 lasts about a month.

All of our Dakota platforms have been ex cabs, quad cabs or Durangos.

Typically the 3.9 gets 18-19 in an ext cab, the 5.2 about 16 with 3.55 gears. and the 5.9 13 with 3.92 gears.

An 883 sportster?

My 1200 sporty only gets marginally better MPG (41) than my Renegade (34.5)
